Drug USE Lab

DRUG U.S.E. LAB

Drug Utilization, Safety & Effectiveness

The Drug USE Lab generates evidence on the Utilization, Safety, and Effectiveness (USE) of biologic therapies approved for the treatment of asthma and other allergic/immunologic diseases. Our approach includes the application of existing innovative causal inference and statistical methods to data from randomized trials, electronic health records, and administrative claims, and the development of new methodological approaches. We seek to improve our understanding of the patterns of utilization of novel therapies, uncovering reasons for differences in use across groups; to evaluate the long-term safety of these relatively new therapies; to generate evidence on the comparative effectiveness of biologic therapies; and to integrate multi-omics domains in identifying predictors of drug response. In so doing, we hope to equip patients and their providers with evidence-based information at the point of care so that the value of these therapies is optimized.
